Quick update: while we had lots of fun doing posed newborn photography sessions, we’ve decided to focus on more natural baby photography.
This family didn’t have the opportunity to do a newborn session with their first child, something that they ended up regretting. After this bundle of joy came along, mom was determined not to let this opportunity pass them by again, but an uncertain work schedule made pinning down a date a little challenging. We remained flexible as we didn’t want to let these precious moments slip away without capturing them for mom and dad, and we were eventually able to make it work at six weeks old.
He was a bundle of energy for most of the shoot, which is why we recommend having newborn shoots between 4–14 days old, but we hung in there until he drifted off to sleep. Mom, dad and big sister were all delighted with the photos. Remember, it’s never too late to start capturing the beauty of your family – children grow up oh-so-quickly and you’ll be thankful that you have keepsakes like our heirloom albums and prints to hang on to as time goes by.
Mom had this to say about the experience:
“It was a pleasure having you over. Loved every single picture.”
